FURNIVAL BURNGREAVE COMMUNITY PROJECTS

About the Furnival

FBCP is a charity based in The Furnival, a converted pub—now a community building—located in the Woodside neighbourhood of Burngreave, Sheffield. Burngreave is a disadvantaged area, among the top 1% of deprived areas in the country (by multiple index of deprivation), but also a place rich in cultures and with a strong community spirit.

The Furnival began life looking for ways of responding to the needs of local people, and has developed two major areas of activity: The Cellar Space, and health and wellbeing projects. We also administer Verdon Street Enterprises, a partner organisation that owns three shop units adjacent to The Furnival, and manages room bookings for the community rooms on the ground floor.
