Then come along to the SEASONAL COOKERY WORKSHOPS, launching soon at THE FURNIVAL. We are teaming up with Grow Sheffield to run a series of seasonal cookery workshops over the coming year, starting in August. The workshops will demonstrate simple but tasty recipes using fruit and veg that are in season. For example: plums and greengages in August, Blackberries in September, apples, pears and quinces in Autumn and winter vegetables in December and January. We are looking for volunteers to help run these workshops, so if you would like to take part then please get in touch. You might know some new and exciting ways of using the fruit and veg other than the usual apple crumble, chutney, soup etc. So if you do, we would like to hear from you! A lot of the fruit and veg will be provided by Grow Sheffield's Abundance Project (www.growsheffield.com/pages/groShefAbund.html), which harvests surplus fruit from fruit trees and shrubs in public places and also in private gardens (with permission of course!). If you would like to have a go at harvesting yourself, or would like to volunteer your services, then give us a call on 0114 272 7497 or contact Grow Sheffield on 07849 073 394.
